One of the world's most iconic oil filter brands, FRAM Filters, will join 'The Pom' Steve Read as he makes a return to Top Fuel drag racing in Australia.
"I couldn't be more thrilled to have FRAM Filters come on board with our Top Fuel program", Steve Read said. "FRAM Filters have been on my race cars since the 1990s, and I used them through my tree surgery business back in England."
"There's certainly a difference between an ordinary oil filter and a premium quality filter like FRAM", Read explained. "A premium filter helps to remove any contaminants and impurities from the oil, leading to overall better engine performance. In Top Fuel, we race on the edge, and performance management is crucial to ensuring we do less damage and get the most out of the engine."
Read will carry FRAM Racing's HP6 filter on board his 11,000 horsepower Top Fuel Dragster at the Winternationals on June 6-9, 2024, which also serves as his return to competition.
"Racing in front of a home crowd is always an extra sense of excitement. With this being the first event at Willowbank after the upgrades, I'm sure race fans will turn out in force to see one of the most competitive Top Fuel shows in years. I'm thrilled to have FRAM on board for our return and we aim to give them a good showing."
Read was quick to point out the importance of supporting great brands that support drag racing. "Drag Racing fans are amongst the best there is. They support businesses that support the sport, so next time you need an oil filter for your road car or race car, ask for a FRAM Filter, or check out their website to find your nearest stockist."
